A desire to honor our country's veterans unites this group of individuals at the Omaha Correctional Center (OCC). This week, the OCC Veterans Club held their Spring Symposium, which included a live band, a fallen comrades observance and presentation of certificates.
The Veterans Club is a group of like-minded individuals— both veterans and supporters— who come together to offer support and aid to veterans. They hold weekly meetings with a focus on successful reentry and any other issues facing veterans within the facility. This group fosters community among its members and provides a space for supporting each other with the special understanding of shared experiences.
