City crews installed new LED lights for the John & Amalia Morehead Field at Grandview Park last week. The existing quartz lights had moisture condensation issues and frequently blew bulbs requiring multiple service orders. The improvement project consisted of replacing a bad pole, replacing light mounting brackets and installation of 16 LED lights. The existing 32 quartz lights were 1500 watts fixtures and were replaced with 16 LED lights that are only 400 watts providing more efficient power usage, less maintenance while providing better field lighting.
