The Peru State athletic department recently announced that linebacker Kile Bentley (Cairo) of the football team and setter Allie Schneider (Humphrey) of the volleyball team were named August Bobcat Athletes of the Month.
Bentley led the team in tackles in the 16-6 loss to Missouri Valley on Saturday, August 27, as he had eight tackles all of which were solo.
Schneider in the month of August played in four matches and had 32 kills, 2.00 k/s, 92 total attacks, a .196 hitting percentage, 27 digs and 42 points. She was also a big part of the upset of No. 21 Grand View in five sets on Tuesday, August 30.
The Peru State football team is currently 1-1 on the season with a win over No. 18 Central Methodist last Saturday. This Saturday they head down to Atchison, Kansas to take on Benedictine kickoff is at 1:00 p.m.
The Bobcat volleyball team is 3-5 on the year and they have three matches, a home game against Evangel Friday, September 9, with first serve at 6:00 p.m. They hit the road Saturday for two matches against University of Saint Mary and Bethany College, first serve is at 3:00 and 5:00 p.m.
