Sutton, Luedtke Combine for Fifty Points in Win vs. Midland

Marquel Sutton and Kyle Luedtke combined for 50 points Tuesday and dropped career-highs in Omaha's win vs. Midland. The Mavericks snapped a four-game losing streak with a 104-72 win over the Warriors.

Omaha improves to 4-8 overall.

Leaders for Omaha
Sutton went 14-of-15 from the field for a career and game best 29 points, while Luedtke went 7-of-8 from three-point range to match his career-high 21 points. Frankie Fidler scored 14, JJ White added 11, and Luke Jungers and Dylan Brougham recorded 10 points each.

Sutton and Fidler crashed the boards for six each, while White dished out a game-high seven assists. Tony Osburn and Luedtke tallied three steals, and Brougham had two blocks.

Leaders for Midland
Emanuel Bryson led the Warriors with 14 points off the bench. He was 6-of-8 from the field with two three-pointers. Ryan Larson added 11 points. He was one of three players with two assists for Midland.

Jack Cooper matched the game-high with six rebounds to lead the Warriors.

Team Stats
The Mavericks shot a season-high 58.8 percent from the field and were carried by Luedtke behind the arc. Omaha connected on 11 threes for a 37.9 percent performance from deep.

Omaha dominated inside outscoring Midland in the paint, 54-18. The Mavericks converted 15 Midland turnovers into 26 points. Omaha also put up 11 points on the second chance, and 21 on the fast break. The Warriors bench slightly edged Omaha's, 39-36.

Inside the First Half
The Warriors jumped out to a 5-0 lead with back-to-back buckets by Jake Rueschohoff and Jake Orr, but it wasn't long before the Mavericks began to feed off the record crowd's energy. Brougham battled low for Omaha's first points that sparked a 10- run for the lead. Sutton kept momentum going with back-to-back dunks for a nine-point lead.

At the 12:17 mark, Osburn drove in for a layup to give the Mavericks their largest lead so far at 10 points, but the Warriors kept it in single-digits until the 7:43 mark. Omaha went on a 19-4 run over the next four minutes highlighted by a Osburn steal and assist on a Sutton dunk. Luedtke also hit his first two three-pointers in that stretch. Luedkte, Jungers, and White had the hot hand in the final minutes and helped Omaha take a 55-31 lead into halftime.

Inside the Second Half
Momentum continued into the second half as the Mavericks cracked into the 30-point lead range in the first five minutes. Osburn fed Brougham on the block who exploded for a dunk and 31-point lead. The Warriors chipped away over the next seven minutes and got within 17 of Omaha at the 8:13 mark following a 9-0 run capped by a Bryson jumper.

The rally fell short for the Warriors as Sutton and Luedtke kept the Maverick offense going. Sutton's field goal at the 7:11 mark helped stall the Midland scoring, while Luedtke hit three more from long range over the next three minutes. His final three of the night made it a 98-69 lead for the Mavericks. They went on to win 104-72.

Game Notes
-Luedtke was one three-pointer shy of tying the single-game high set on two occasions for the program.
-Omaha shot a season-best 58.8 percent from the field.
-Tuesday marked the first time the Mavericks scored double-digit three-pointers. They finished the day with 11 from deep. Their previous season-high was seven makes vs. Southern.
-Omaha also recorded a season-high 21 assists. White's seven led the game and tied his career-high set earlier this season.
-Tuesday was the first time this season the Mavericks surpassed 100 points in a game.
-Today's attendance (4,316) set a single-game record since moving to Baxter Arena.
-Omaha welcomed back former assistant Tyler Erwin (Midland head coach) and former player Mitch Hann (Midland assistant coach) at game.
