3.3% of citizens in Nebraska unemployed in 2021

Nebraska's unemployment rate hit 3.3% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That's 34,474 people out of the 1,951,480 living in Nebraska at the time, according to data U.S. Census Bureau data obtained on Oct. 26, 2023.

The unemployment rate in Nebraska has decreased compared to the 3.4% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Nebraska was less than the national unemployment rate of 5.5%.

Of the 1,017,892 people who had a job during that time, 5,903 were employed in the Armed Forces and 1,011,989 belonged to the civilian labor force.
