At its most recent meeting, the Hastings College Foundation Board awarded eight Innovation Grants totaling more than $50,000 to Hastings College employees. These funds are intended for projects aiming to enrich campus life, improve teaching and learning and help ensure student success. All recipients went through an application process prior to being awarded.
Kim West Dinsdale, Foundation Board chair, provided funding through the estate of her son, Jackson Dinsdale, who attended Hastings College as a studio art major from 2010 until his passing in 2014.
Grants awarded include:
- Amanda Solem, associate professor and chair of the biology department — Quantitative PCR
- Brianna Weichel, library services and information literacy coordinator — Collaborative Flex Space
- Brett Wells, director of athletic management and human performance — Athletic Management Program
- Patricia Oman, associate professor of English and chair of the Department of Languages and Literatures — Collegian Digital Archives
- Robert Amyot, director of the honors program and professor of political science — Learning Communities Pilot Project
- Rachael Robinson-Keilig and Nicole Muszynski, assistant professors of psychology — Department of Psychology and Sociology Student Research Lab
- Jamie Martin, assistant professor of teacher education, and Kass Rempp, professor of teacher education — Collaborate, Innovate, Regulate
- Stephanie Furrer, professor of psychology and chair of department of psychology and sociology — Disconnect to Reconnect: Expanding Nature-Rich Experiences Beyond the Pandemic
