During the August work period, U.S. Senator Deb Fischer (R-Neb.) traveled across Nebraska to meet with residents and discuss issues affecting their communities. Fischer’s stops included cities such as Omaha, Scottsbluff, Valentine, and Kearney.
“It is the privilege of my lifetime to serve as the U.S. Senator for Nebraska. As I traveled across our state listening to Nebraskans and answering their questions, I was amazed, as always, to see how they are working together to strengthen their communities—not only for today, but for generations to come. I look forward to taking what I learned through the conversations I had during this work period back to Washington, where I will continue to do my part to make the Good Life even better,” Fischer said.
In Ashland, Fischer participated in the 2025 Federal Legislative Summit alongside members of the Nebraska Delegation. The event was hosted by several local chambers of commerce.
At Mead’s University of Nebraska-Lincoln Eastern Nebraska Research, Extension and Education Center, Fischer joined a roundtable discussion with U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins and agricultural industry representatives.
Fischer also visited several community organizations and businesses throughout her travels. In Ainsworth she toured a new child development center and answered questions at a local radio station. Stops in Gordon included McDonald Apiculture; in Chadron she met with Northwest Community Action Partnership and visited an early childhood education facility.
Additional meetings took place at locations such as Double L Country Store and Café in Harrisburg; law enforcement officials in Gering; Papa Moon Vineyards & Winery and Western Sugar Cooperative in Scottsbluff; Lapaseotes Feed Yard in Bridgeport; Pole Creek Estates in Sidney; Haymaker Creative District in Cozad; Fred and Pamala Buffet Cancer Center in Kearney; Douglas A. Kristensen Rural Health Education Complex at University of Nebraska at Kearney; as well as interviews with various local media outlets along her route.
The Nebraska Farm Bureau recognized Fischer with the American Farm Bureau’s Golden Plow Award during an award ceremony held in Kearney.
In Omaha, Fischer delivered remarks at the 2025 Nebraska Data and AI Summit.
