U.S. Senator Deb Fischer (R-Neb.) issued a statement on the second anniversary of the October 7, 2023, terrorist attack on Israel. In her statement, Fischer said: “As we mark two years since Hamas’ cold-blooded attack on Israel, we honor the memory of those brutally murdered on October 7, 2023, including the hostages killed by this terrorist group. We continue to pray for the safe return of all those still in captivity. I stand firmly with Israel against Hamas’ heinous disregard for human life. Lasting peace demands the return of every hostage, the end of this devastating war, and the complete defeat of Hamas.”

Fischer also announced her support as a cosponsor for a resolution that condemns the October 7 attack and calls for measures to ensure Israel's survival. The resolution emphasizes preventing Hamas from reestablishing itself in the region and seeks the release of all remaining hostages from Gaza, including two U.S. citizens.
