Governor Pillen appoints Ryan N. Decker as county court judge in Lancaster County

Governor Jim Pillen has appointed Ryan N. Decker as the new county court judge in Nebraska’s Third Judicial District, which covers Lancaster County.

Decker has served as a deputy attorney in Lancaster County since 2018. During his tenure, he has prosecuted cases in the Lancaster County Veterans Treatment Court and the Adult Drug Court, and has handled felony traffic cases. Before joining Lancaster County, Decker worked as an assistant county attorney in Black Hawk County, Iowa.

Decker holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Ambrose University in Iowa and earned his juris doctor from Creighton University School of Law.

The appointment fills the vacancy left by the retirement of Judge Laurie J. Yardley.
