Weather permitting, work is scheduled to resume March 28, on US-281 east junction US-20 and South 4th Street in O’Neill, from reference post 182.81 to reference post 183.31, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation. BX-Civil & Construction, of Dell Rapids, South Dakota, has the 4.5 million dollar contract.
Work will include replacing the existing sanitary sewer, water mains, storm sewer, concrete paving/sidewalks and street lighting. The left lane on US-20 will be closed, between 4th and 5th streets to accommodate truck traffic.
There will be a 10-foot width restriction. Anticipated completion is summer 2022. Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously in and near work zones, to buckle up, and put phones down.
