Robert Mahler #75044, age 65, died at Johnson County Hospital. He was incarcerated at the Tecumseh State Correctional Institution (TSCI). Mahler was serving a sentence of 50 to 81 years on charges out of Dixon County that included two counts of motor vehicle homicide and second offense driving under the influence (DUI).
The cause of death has not yet been determined. As is the case whenever an inmate dies in the custody of the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS), a grand jury will conduct an investigation.
