Officer Amanda Scott graduated from the Nebraska Law Enforcement Training Center (NLETC)

Today, August 12, 2022, Officer Amanda Scott graduated from the Nebraska Law Enforcement Training Center (NLETC) in Grand Island. Over the last 15 weeks, Officer Scott received training at NLETC, giving her the knowledge to be a police officer in the State of Nebraska.  She will continue her training within the Hastings Police Department for the next 14 weeks, giving her the knowledge and skills to provide the excellent services our community deserves.

Officer Scott had family, friends, and fellow HPD staff attending her graduation.  Officer Scott graduated from the 211th session and was distinguished by being honored with several awards.  Officer Scott was recognized with the Outstanding Team Members Award, the Academic Award (highest grade point average), and the Outstanding Student Award.  Officer Scott was recognized with three of the four awards presented to the basic class, which speaks highly to her character and abilities.

After the graduation ceremony, City Clerk Kim Jacobitz gave Officer Scott her oath of office and swore her in as a police officer for the City of Hastings.  We are proud of Officer Scott’s accomplishments and graduating today as a certified officer.  Congratulations and welcome to our family and community!
